Dr. Shin makes an appearance on the golf TV channel the J Golf
Dr. Joon-shik Shin of Jaseng Hospital of Korean Eastern Medicine which specializes in non-surgical spinal treatments, made an appearance on the golf TV channel, the J Golf, in the program called, ‘Looking at the green from the humanities’ forest’. (Airs on the 21st of December at 10 PM)
Golf is often used as a metaphor for ‘life’. Because joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure that we go through in life is all melted into the 18 holes. Dr. Joon-shik Shin gave a class on ‘how to enjoy golf healthily’ to the program that shares life and philosophy within golf.
Jaseng Hospital of Korean Eastern Medicine is famous for being responsible for the health and well-being of world renowned Korean golfers like, K.J. Choi, Ji-ae Shin, Na-yeon Choi and many others.
According to Dr. Shin, “Many golfers complain about the pain in their backs, wrists, and sides because they want to achieve greater driving distance and they swing with a lot of force behind them. The bigger problem is that they endure the pain thinking, ‘it will get better soon’ and ignore it. But pro-golfers don’t take any chances even with minor injuries.
‘The Final Queen’, Ji-ae Shin had been treated at the Jaseng Hospital for an ankle muscle sprain during this year’s season. The symptom was caused by overdue stress. She never overlooks minor injuries and puts in the effort to seek treatments to keep the best conditioning as possible.
It’s also the same case with ‘Pretty Face’, Na-yeon Choi. Even though she never had serious injuries due to continuous swing motions she felt the stress on her back and felt the importance of taking care of her body. She is putting the effort to maintain her health because she realizes that minor pain can lead to major injuries.
Also ‘The Tank’, K.J. Choi pays his regular visit to maintain top condition whenever he feels discomfort.
Jaseng Hospital of Korean Eastern Medicine’s integrative treatment is the biggest reason for the frequent visits from top pro-golfers like K.J. Choi for immediate pain relief.
Pain is a signal from the body. If one ignores this signal and keeps on swinging, the body will not send the signal anymore. Therefore if one feels pain they must seek treatment to prevent further damage. Generally, golfers try to overcome the swing related injuries with even more practice. However, if they feel continuous pain from golf swings, they must seek correct treatment.
A smart way to enjoy golf while maintaining the health is not to overlook any minor injuries and seeking treatment.
